I disagree - the demos are fantastic, but "Nearfield" is a letdown. Not at all the "they're so close to Slowdive you have to hear it!" I expected. I love Raise..... the aural propulsion those songs have is incredible I thought Mezcal Head was ok with a few incredible songs("duress,""last train...") Ejector Seat... is more enjoyable than MH in my opinion, but it is a bit different. It isnt quite as "driving" and is a lot poppier....but still really great songwriting... 99th Dream continues in this vein... the songs are a lot lighter(with a couple of exceptions)....they dont have the "sprawling epic" feel of the first album....and to be honest, Adam's voice even sounds a bit like Noel Gallagher on a couple of tracks. It is still a good album with some great songs....but not very memorable I'm afraid. But it definately doesnt lessen my opinion of Swervedriver...and I cant wait to see them here in San Francisco on April 1!!! That is unless it's a big April Fool's joke and COunting Crows comes out on stage instead or something.... but then again these are my own opinions...take them with a grain of salt... And about the Autumns....I have never heard their stuff and have actually only heard about them through this list..... But apparantly they are coming to San Francisco in April and my band Solarium has already been tentatively asked to play with them here....so I'm pretty stoked....
