As far as visualization goes, the best I can reccommend is to simply
keep practicing.  If you don't "see" what you're supposed to, tell
yourself that if your skills were developed enough, you *would* see
what's there.  Be confident in the reality of what you're visualizing
and focus your attention on that, even if you can only conceptualize
it in words, even if all you can see is the blackness behind your
eyelids.
