Yes, I actually had to double-check the cast-list when I first listened to it, because I thought I heard his voice on a couple of the songs. He would, indeed, be perfect. -- _--_|\ | Kathryn Andersen / \ | http://www.foobox.net/~kat \_.--.*/ | http://jove.prohosting.com/~rubykat v | #include "standard/disclaimer.h" ------------| Melbourne -> Victoria -> Australia -> Southern Hemisphere Maranatha! | -> Earth -> Sol -> Milky Way Galaxy -> Universe ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jul 2000 08:51:04 EST From: "J MacQueen" To: blakes7@lysator.liu.se Subject: Re: [B7L] Re: Avon as Snape... and more Message-ID: <20000723225104.84247.qmail@hotmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed >From: "Ellynne G." >"No, yeh're not," said Hagrid, "'Course yeh're not. Thank you, Ellynne, I have a big grin on my face now, only to be matched by the laugh I had on Saturday while reading a review for The Goblet of Fire in The Australian - Harry "less unbelievable than Thomas Covenant..." Couldn't help myself. I am reminded of Karen Elizabeth Gordon's book, Paris Out of Hand. One of the restaurants has machines you feed food into, and the machines dispense money in return. Barring the money bit, that is the sort of drinks dispenser Vila would prefer to be, I think. Unless... they are already in that universe. And the grade system is based partly on magicality. If the ideas of Slytherin, etc ever become predominant among wizards, they would impose a terrible regime on the Muggles. So, the Atomic Wars devestate the world, the wizards, who protected themselves pretty well, look around and say, 'What a mess the Muggles have made of things, we'd better take charge." They create a world government. But they also decide to keep their magic hidden. Wizard families become known as Alpha grades (to keep them distinct, but not inform the Muggles as to their true nature). The rest of humanity is also sorted out into grades based on other factors. Servalan would be a witch; Blake would be a wizard. As for the other rebels, that would vary. Cally, I would think not. The Auronar have telepathy but not magic. Tarrant-- I would write him as possibly a Squib, and that's why he defected and became a pirate. Avon, well, I would write him as a wizard, but possibly a Mudblood. Blake's 7 as the future of the HP universe may not be as obvious as a Star Trek connection, but... it could get a lot more fun. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jul 2000 15:42:57 EST From: "J MacQueen" To: blakes7@lysator.liu.se Subject: [B7L] Re: Second chance to see Message-ID: <20000724054257.34830.qmail@hotmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Thank you for the offer, Minnie, but I did manage to stay awake long enough to see it (I suspect that's the closest I'll ever get to a hangover, the way I felt Saturday morning). I've actually got time to answer every post I want to reply to, and think long and hard about what I'm going to say and construct arguments and stuff. So what's going down on the Lyst this week? Erm ... Croucher in swimwear ... Darrow in underwear ... B7 avatars in Harry Potter ... Scarlet Pimpernel ... Maybe there's something to be said for resurrecting That Topic after all. In the meantime, can I put in a request for any future issue of Zenith to include a full colour centrefold of Jan Chappell modelling a gorilla suit. Or failing that a pervy drawing of her wearing almost nothing with wires coming out of her head. Hang on, there already is one. On page 68. But her tits are too big.
