Thank you, Lisa, I have just gone and had a happy half-hour
playing with the figures.

First off. ***51,000????*** I'm stunned...let's see, that
means on any given day of the year, there were (um, divide
this, carry the nought) over 140 pictures of Avon alone
being copied...80 of Blake and 41 of Vila.  Mmmm, I did
wonder why my mouse got so tired some days :-)

Orac topped the per-image list? Orac??? For God's sake,
don't anyone *tell* the self-important rat in a box...

The single shots - interesting that one of *Soolin* came top
of the people (after two of Liberator). And I'm a little
surprised which was the most popular Avon shot (not that
I'm complaining, but with Shadow *and* Warlord in there...)

The Avon-Blake picture is my favourite of them on your whole
page :-) It's a gorgeous picture (as long as you firmly
forget that at that moment they're talking about cactii <g>)

And 54 of Servalan. I suppose we can blame Calle for a lot of those.

Subjects with only a few images available, like Orac and Scorpio, tend to 
be a bit over-represented in the downloads-per-image rankings compared to 
those which may actually be more popular but have many more images to 
choose from. (The Liberator seems to be genuinely very popular, though, 
since it ranked high on both the total downloads and per-image lists, and 
was in seven of the top 20 images.) Orac only has six images indexed, so 
it's very easy for someone to get all of them. As opposed to Avon, for 
instance, where you'd really have to work at it (but obviously a lot of 
people did.)

It's a good picture of her, though, and she's one who doesn't have many 
images available yet, so a single good shot is likely to earn a high 
rating. (Of course, the one of her getting killed also made the top 20; I'm 
not sure what that signifies.)

Yes, I was a bit surprised by that, too. Of course, "Blake" had a head 
start; it was already in the library at the beginning of the year, while 
"Shadow" was added in March and "Warlord" in June.

I'll tell you if you promise not to breathe down my neck about getting them 
done -- the amount of free time I have to work on these things varies, and 
I know that January is going to be a real bitch of a month at work, so they 
won't be coming out at record speed. (Got some stuff I'm trying to get done 
for my other website, too.)

However, the five winning episodes, which will be the next ones added to 
the library and will complete the 13 I'm going to include on my first 
CD-ROM release (once I get the other shows filled out as well) are:

         Killer
         Rumours of Death
         Sarcophagus
         Death-Watch
         Gold

I don't know yet what order I'll do them in, though I may do "Rumours" 
second just to get it out of the way. (It's one of my least favorite 
episodes, so I'm going to have to brace myself to do captures for it.)

Hi Everyone,

New Year's Greetings all around....

Good news - Amazon emailed me with notice that "A History & Critical Analysis of
Blake's 7..." is finally (it was supposed to come in November) on its way to my
sunny doorstep.  So... it must be published and out there in the world ready to
be purchased by fellow B7 fans everywhere.  What a lovely way to start off a new
year.  :)

To the KBTC viewers... enjoy!  I only get San Francisco and San Mateo's PBS
stations and they never run any of the good stuff.  Oddly, our cable doesn't have
San Jose or Sacramento's PBS stations which do run the good stuff as evidenced in
my TV Guide listings.  Grrrrr.....  It's an unfair world.  "Can you get it?"
indeed.

Doomed, depressing and often bloody funny in itself, let
us not forget...and not just the scripts. I think the
lunatic edge first appeared for me with the glorious addition
of the Wardrobe Room, an insane idea purely there so that
Our Heroes could do what no other SF crew did and dress up
to the completely impractical nines to commit mayhem (were
Avalon's and Kasabi's groups deliberately made to look like -
well, rebels? - to offset our favourite peacocks-with-
blasters).

One of the things I adore about Blake's 7 *is* its sense
of the ridiculous, a thread that runs alongside the doom
and gloom and irony. A lot of shows have humour, but a
sense of the ridiculous is much rarer, and to be treasured...

Avon_one list is a small Avon-lover's list run by Pat Fenech
and Christine Lacey; rallying call the list for organising the
APA of same name. I'm rather fond of Dark and Dysfunctional
*and* Fearless Leader, just in case anyone hasn't noticed.

They have the good stuff, but all too often horribly late at night - and
other half won't buy a vcr... KTEH was running B7 last year, but after
Dr Who - in other words about 1:30 am on Sunday nights. Not practical.

Hi,

Here's some web site statistics.

Last year, http://www.hermit.org/Blakes7 was visited by 22,000 people (well, all 
right, some of them probably account for quite a few visits)

The most popular areas of the site were Fanzines, Sevencyclopaedia, News and the
Gallery (which has a link to Lisa's wonderful picture collection as well as a
few of our own).

Not quite so popular, but still well-visited were the filks, convention area,
Gareth Thomas page, the episode transcripts, essays and a few pictures of Jackie
Pearce.

Picture accesses over the whole site were at least 180,000 (this is a lower
bound as not all pictures get counted on all occasions)

The site currently has 1,397 pages, 1,910 images, 109 scripts and 100 other
files.  The total size is around 37 M.

Did anyone else on the list see the Harry Hill Christmas Special?

At one point he had a row with the badgers (over the non-appearance of the
badger parade) and the price of their continuing co-operation was to give
them their own spin-off TV series. This was called 'badgers in space' (or

Probably not, alas...there are many more Bizarro stories that were actually
